Security Agents Rescue Abducted Passengers In Katsina 

This came hours after some suspected bandits armed with dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles attacked a Katsina State Transport Authority vehicle.

Security agents have rescued 14 passengers abducted by bandits in Katsina State.

A joint police patrol team attached to the Kankara Divisional Police Headquarters, Katsina State in collaboration with troops of the Nigerian Army and members of the Katsina Community Watch Corps, rescued them on Thursday.

This came hours after some suspected bandits armed with dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles attacked a Katsina State Transport Authority vehicle.

The vehicle was driven by one Dabo Filalawa of Filin Polo quarters but was intercepted at Gidan Kifi village via Kankara to Marabar- Kankara road en route to Funtua from Katsina. The gunmen thereafter kidnapped the occupants.

The joint security team, upon receipt of the report, swiftly mobilised and responded to the scene where they engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel and successfully rescued 14 kidnapped victims.

A statement by the police spokesman in Katsina, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, noted that efforts are in top gear to rescue four other abductees.

“Further development will be communicated in due time, please,” he said.
