In line with its fight against terrorism in Nigeria, the Armed Forces said it neutralised 974 terrorists and arrested 621 suspected terrorists and kidnappers across the country in February.

While briefing journalists on the activities of the armed forces for February, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, in Abuja, Director Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba said several arms and ammunition were also recovered, while 466 kidnapped victims were rescued in the month under review.

He advised terrorists to repent and come to the table for peace, as the Armed Forces will continue to punish unrepentant criminals with overwhelming military force.

The development comes days after the Rivers State Police Command paraded the remains of cult kingpin, 2Baba over the murder of DPO Bako Angbashim.

During the weekly report of the operations of the Armed Forces in January, Buba said its air component of Operation Hadin Kai on 10 January, had eliminated three top commanders of the Islamic States of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State.

According to him, the three commanders identified as; Abou Maimuna, Abou Zahra and Commander Saleh with their lieutenants in a canoe, were targeted and destroyed by the air strikes.
