The Katsina State Government has assured corps members deployed to the state of a conducive atmosphere throughout their service year.
The State Governor, Dikko Radda, disclosed this on Tuesday when he declared open the 2024 Batch A, Stream 1 orientation course at the Katsina NYSC Orientation Camp.
The Governor represented by his Deputy, Faruk Jobe, in his welcome address, urged prospective corps members to feel free and be at home as Katsina. He said is an NYSC-friendly state with the people generally receptive and accommodating.

He therefore, urged them to participate actively in all the orientation activities, appreciating the contributions of corps members in the development of the state especially in the areas of community development service, apart from augmenting manpower needs in various schools and healthcare facilities across the state.
He, however, charged them to shun cultism, political and religious intolerance, or any other forms of anti-social behavior.
Katsina State Chief Judge, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar administered the oath of allegiance to the prospective corps members.
On his part, the former NYSC Director General, retired Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga, charged prospective corps members to zero their minds on serving the country, urging them to stay off politics and religious intolerance.
“They should also dedicate themselves and believe that they have already succeeded in life. We were once there and we succeeded. Let them have a very positive mind to organize their future during the service year,” Tsiga added.
Earlier in her address, the State NYSC Coordinator, A’isha Muhammad, announced that the orientation course had commenced on Thursday 15th February 2024, and closed by midnight of Sunday, 18th February 2024.
She added that a total of 1,343 corps members comprising 677 males and 666 females have been duly registered.
“And the corps members have been responding positively to instructions and directives,” she noted.
